Bucket list

You can help me find what I’m looking for!
Are you in Australia, have you been there or do you have knowledge of the animals that live there and where to find them? did you see a awesome animal or can you recommend a nature park or guid? Post a comment and help me on my quest to photograph as much different animals as possible.

Out of the many awesome animals that live in Australia there are a couple that are at the top of my list of ‘must see animals’. Automatically most of them are also among the most iconic. my current bucket list is:

  • Echidna
  • blue ringed octopus
  • thorny devil
  • Great white shark
  • platypus
  • Cassowary
  • Dingo
  • Dugong
  • Frill-necked lizard
  • Tasmanian devil
  • Wombat
  • sawfish
  • whale shark
  • manta ray
  • koala

Check out my checklist of the animals I have seen so far.

Ever since I started photographing animals I’m always on the lookout to spot more different species. In the Netherlands, where I’m from, there is a website of a national organisation where you can post all living things you spot in the country. If you know the name yourself you can insert it, if not a team of biologists will help you determine what it is you found. It’s a fun way to make your own database of all the things you’ve seen and they use your date to analyse how certain animals or plants are doing. For instance, they can tell if populations are growing or declining, where birds migrate to and much more. curious about the website or about my personal dutch checklist?

During my time in Central America in 2015 it almost became an obsession to see as much species as possible. In the 3.5 months I was there I spend lots and lots of time visiting different nature parks. I was able to photograph about 680 species and saw even more. curious about that list? check out my central america website.
