I have a passion for traveling and photography. Ever since my adult life I’ve been working and saving in order to finance my next trip.
At the end of 2016 I made the decision to leave my home country indefinitely. My life now consists of traveling, finding jobs along the way and enjoy life to the fullest. making dreams come true is what life is all about!
Every time when I’m traveling I am daydreaming of maybe one day opening up my own hostel/jungle lodge. At the end of 2017 I started my course towards that dream. I started as a housekeeper and quickly gained experience in reception and managing/supervising skills. The plan for the near future is to get more work experience by working in different hostels around the world.
I always had many different interests and never wanted to choose a career in just one of them. I have a degree in Graphic Design and Urban Design, a passion for photography, I love to draw, paint, sculpt, design furniture and buildings and have many years of experience in costumer service as a waiter and receptionist.
By running my own hostel I hope all those interests will come together to create my own little piece of paradise. I already see it when I close my eyes: A Lodge in my own piece of jungle to guide my guests through and with lots of wildlife for me and others to photograph. I will design the buildings and interiors myself and use it as a place to exhibit my own photography, paintings, sculptures and furniture.
I’ll also design the entire corporate identity myself from the signage to the logo and website. Add a little restaurant/cocktail bar where I can pass on all my knowledge as a waiter and off course have hammocks everywhere to doze of in my little paradise with a fresh fruit shake in hand.
Tropical weather, working bare foot, enjoy good food and drinks, a relaxing tune on the background to create the perfect chill atmosphere. Doesn’t sound bad does it?
In the meantime I’ll keep dreaming.
